VISION
As a movement we believe in the power and priority of preaching. Preaching that calls, that announces, that leads, that shapes, that tears down and builds up, that creates and cuts to the heart. God himself is a preacher, forming and filling his world by speaking, and Jesus, God in the flesh, likewise saw his primary role as preaching throughout the towns and cities in Israel.
Throughout history God has used anointed preachers of his word to start churches, birth movements, advance the gospel, reach new people groups and see lives transformed. Often it is preaching that God uses to light the flame of revival and to prepare his people for suffering and sacrifice for his name.
John Wesley said: Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin, and desire nothing but God, and I care not a straw whether they be clergymen or laymen; such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of heaven on Earth.
With that in mind, we recognise the importance of the preaching and teaching gifts that there are among us and their role in starting and strengthening churches. It’s a gift that we want to see multiplied and released as we advance.
If you are a preacher then we would love for you to join us so we can invest in the gifts God has given us, and raise our sights to what God could do with a small band of preachers across our nation and beyond.
FORMAT
We’ll be gathering online for five sessions on Zoom from the 30th April and an in-person gathering on the 8th June.
Our online sessions will include times of teaching and discussion as well as opportunities to connect with other preachers across the country. We will also hear from preachers from different nations in our movement to hear what preaching is like in their context.
And then as we come together for our day away we are going to have additional teaching, Q&A, breakout time, and to seek God together and ask him to breathe on preaching in our nation.
CONTENT & CURRICULUM
Over these sessions we want to cover topics such as:
- The priority of preaching (what is it)
- The purpose of preaching (what are we trying to achieve)
- The power of preaching (supernatural preaching)
- The preparation of the preacher (who/character)
- The preparation of preaching (content/delivery)
- The practicalities of preaching (tips/hints/stories/do’s and don’ts)
- The prayer of preachers
WHO IS IT FOR?
This is for serious preachers, whether that is now, or those that feel called to be in the future. Not for the faint hearted. This would be ideal for current or emerging preaching teams to grapple with together.
It costs £20 per person and this covers all costs of running the course and the away day, including the venue, guest teachers and lunch.
We look forward to seeing you there!
